Huntress

So here is my latest sculpt - no LEDs, but there is a little bit of slime and drool, so that makes up for it... well, almost it does.

Sorry mom, this one's a bit violent for me, I know. Here's the clip from the story (Book 2, Prometheus Fire)

"Asharadel wrenched her bow free from the hard packed soil. The carved steel of the blades glinted in the blazing sunlight, one of them wet with the Tamarak's violet blood. The creature's bulky body lay a few yards away, the mass of limbs and spikes finally still with death. The terror of the battle, the adrenaline, the thrill of the hunt all slowly drained from her, leaving her body weary and exhausted. But the beast was dead, and that realization suddenly burned bright within her. She had done it, and she lived.
Elder Aoselan still stood on the stony outcropping twenty yards away, flowing robes a bleached bone-gray that seemed to glow in the sunlight. The shadow of his hood hid his expression, and Asharadel could not see if he was pleased or angered that she had done what none said she could. Slowly the man raised his staff, signaling the final form of the ceremony.
Asharadel strode to the body, grasping the Tamarak's severed head by the scruff of the neck with her gauntleted hand. Every muscle in her body ached from the long hunt, and the many scars crisscrossing her plague-ravaged arm burned with the exertion of hefting the thing. She lifted the trophy, the mark of her right to stand among the Hunters, forcing her expression to remain calm as she regarded Elder Aoselan. This was her right, her heritage.
For a moment the Elder regarded her from beneath the shadows of his hood. Finally, wordlessly, he lowered his staff, bowing his head just enough for the light to brush across his brow. It was finished."

Please continue to submit your designs! I'm excited by what I've received so far. To those of you who have sent me your work, thank you so much! I will post the different designs and open it up for voting by the beginning of may.

I think this might be my favorite sculpt yet. Very nicely done. DId you do those cloths as one whole piece or was it bit by bit?

Okay, Jon - so I must admit - as your momma - that my first reaction was "eeewww..." But I must also admit that this reaction lasted about a millisecond - really - because this is truly beautiful work! And then I saw your little nod to me in your comments - so tell me everyone - do I have a great son, or what? Yes, I know I do! But all that aside, what can I say but "WOW!" She's amazing. Her face is amazing. Her hands are amazing. Her costume is amazing. That creature's head is amazing. Even your excerpt from your novel is amazing. You are a great writer, too! Your talents just keep growing & growing. But, as your mom, I also have a few "reality check" comments to make. For fighting such a fierce & dangerous battle, she sure has a lot of her beautiful & vulnerable chest exposed... I guess I can hope that that green crystal provides some sort of added protection in that area... And then --- come on, Jon, fighting in HIGH HEELS! I mean, I know she might be a very fashion conscious woman, but have you ever tried to maneuver, in an agile way, when your life depended upon it, in high heels? Actually, I hope you haven't ;-). But ask someone who has... Not very likely... But, yeah, the look is very cool - and for a girl, I guess that's what really matters, right? Love you, Jon - and can't wait to see this one in person!!!

Tim - The clothes are one panel at a time. Mom - you're absolutely right :D But i guess that's why they call it fiction.

She is so cool! I like her a lot. Mannnn- why can't you still be here so I can see them in person? What did you make her clothes out of? It looks almost shiny...

I really like her! I have to say looking upclose at her I love that you can see the "beast" blood on her clothes and on the ground. Her hand holding the bow looks awesome and the goo dripping off the beast's head is an added awesome touch! I also really like the scars that you put on her. As I was reading the clip from the book I loved that my assumption of scars was correct. All in all I love it!
How are you doing by the way? Its been a while!

Jon, you are getting really amazing. I mean, you were always amazing, but now EVERYONE can see it, not just your favorite oldest sister.
