Um, Jon, I don't think I've ever seen anyone with her hand like that: when a girl puts her hand on her hip, her fingers will point toward the front (like you sculpted) but her thumb is behind her hip instead of in line with her other fingers. Ok, it sounds really stupid to try to describe it, but just look at a normal girl with her hands on her hips and you'll see what I mean.
Besides that, this sculpture is great! I love her face, and her hair looks fabulous.
I know I know :( unfortunately it's terribly difficult to sculpt the hand in the position with the thumb behind the hip and the rest of the fingers in front - unless I put in like 10 hours, it ends up looking like the hand is getting ripped in half. mostly the problem lies in the fact that you mus put an identation where the thumb sinks into the love handle and the cloth of the figure, and when you've already baked the figure its impossible. I've tried- this actually ended up looking better than going for the other way with the thumb pressed against the iron sides of the girl.
I think she looks down right cute...but a lot better in person. Her hand doesn't look as awkward when you see her and not just in print! What's your next masterpiece?

Oh, I'm sorry. You're right, that would be a pain. She looks great anyway though, really.
So, did you sell this one at the fair?
